Christian Catholic Mystic Hermit: Today's Psalm Ever Purposeful

I found the Psalm of today's liturgy to be quite meaningful, in vast and purposeful ways.

From Psalm 119 the following lines remind me that those with propensity to deceive themselves and thus attempt to deceive others, will eventually find their falsehoods gurgling to the surface. While truth always ends up being shown to such persons at final judgment, it behooves each of us to consider, absorb, and live the advice and wisdom of these lines from the following Psalm.

Though princes meet and talk against me,

Your servant mediates on your statutes.

Yes, Your decrees are my delight;

they are my counselors.

I declared my ways, and You answered me;

teach me Your statues.

Make me understand the way of Your precepts,

and I will meditate on your wondrous deeds.

Remove from me the way of falsehood,

and favor me with Your law.

The way of truth I have chosen;

I have set your ordinances before me.

--Psalm 119: 23-24, 26-27, 29-30

Years ago in my vocation as a consecrated Catholic hermit, I prayed about the rule of life that God desires of me.   I knew immediately when reading a biography of a hermit of the Middle Ages, a holy, blessed man named Richard, that what he had determined to be the "perfect rule of life" is indeed what the Holy Spirit was showing me to be the perfect rule of life for my own hermit life and my life as a Christian religious solitary:  The Gospel Rule.

All the more, the above Psalm inspires in me today and now tonight, again, the favor of His Law:  God's Law of Love.  I have chosen the way of truth, in that Jesus repeats and exhibits and instills in us to live in truth, beauty, and goodness.  I have prayed to learn the meditations of Jesus' Heart, and to make them the meditations of Christ within me.

I'm so ever grateful for His Real Presence always through, with, and in me, each step of the way of life in the Triune God:  Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Let us love God above all things, and let us love others as God loves.  God bless His Real Presence in us, and love in His Love.  Amen.

Christian Mystic Hermit: Someone's Thoughts on Prophet without Honor

I found this article online, a personal blog or such, and will go back to seek the author and give credit as credit is due. But I found the sentiments and references to Scripture to describe some of how it is for such as a mystic, and the familial relationships and friendships that break down due to the mystic or "prophet" unable to truly live a double life, yet always must attempt to meld into the world of which others exist for they cannot grasp much of the numinous, supernatural reality that is the basis and all about us, an actuality more than the temporal.

I personally am at an age and state in life in which I am utterly exhausted with trying to meld and to cater to what the majority or most can accept; and my attempts for years to blend and give over have not been successful, as it turns out.  I have failed in the efforts of the usual type relationships in which others expect or believe they desire "normalcy" of what others live, how they perceive and think and persist in life. But now in my seventh decade, I realize I simply put off the inevitable reality of not succeeding in attempted double life and remain as much not understood and mystically endowed as I was from the onset such as even in college years or prior. But it was college years that a few others noticed, especially one who said outright I was "different" and would be misunderstood and have a rough go of it--presumably based on her own trials which were actually different than my situation, mine being spiritual and not otherwise.

Even if the author of the following is not per se Christian and not a Christian mystic, he does express his life as being one who is a visionary or prophet, and the rejection and misunderstanding that accompanies such persons is palpable, painful, real, pervasive, and persistently pernicious unless the person has such as a spiritual gift that temporal-geared people desire and need, such as healing or foreknowing with consistent accuracy.  The latter is risky due to discernment being difficult and outcomes continuously correct.

Why prophets were ‘without honour’ in their ‘own home’ and ‘own country’

It is timely to explain why it is that ‘Only in his home town, among his relatives and in his own house is a prophet without honour’ (Mark 6:1-6).

The fundamental situation is that denial-free thinking, which is the essence of a prophet, has been an anathema‘without honour’to the resigned world. The more corrupted humanity became the more confronting uncorrupted individuals were, and the more they were denied honour or recognition or acknowledgment. What alienation was separating itself from was the truthful, sound world of the soul. In a world almost devoid of soul, an emissary from the soul’s world, which is what a prophet is, was actively denied and outcast by persecution, and even eliminated by murder. The basic activity of resigned humans was not to honour the sound, truthful, soulful existence that prophets represented.

However, while this is the fundamental situation, it has also been explained that while resigned humans needed to deny and repress the soul’s truthful world, when they became overly corrupted they needed to find their way back to some truth in order to repair and heal their overly corrupted state. While the presence of truthful prophets was something humans tried to ignore and even destroy, over time they also came to need and appreciateeven to the point of reveringthat presence.

While there emerged a need to recognise or honour prophets, it was still difficult to acknowledge their immediate presence because Page 440 of

the resigned humans’ ego came into play. As briefly mentioned earlier, it was difficult for resigned, egocentric humans to acknowledge the gifts of any individual when that individual was in their presence, nearby, or even still alive. The greater space and time between the presence of the especially gifted person and the average person, the easier it became for the average person to acknowledge their gifts without being made to feel inferior or worthless in comparison. Such was the level of insecurity in humans under the duress of the human condition. A great sportsperson often only received due credit for their achievements after they died, while many gifted individuals died in extreme poverty and anonymity, only to be resurrected and glorified by subsequent generations. Van Gogh managed to sell only one painting in his lifetime, yet his paintings now sell for millions of dollars.

While all talented and gifted people encountered this problem, there was no talent or gift as threatening to the ego of resigned humans as the gift of soundness. Egocentricity in resigned humans was all about trying to establish worthiness at the exclusion of the truth of their corrupted state. The presence of a sound prophet made that all-important exclusion almost impossible to maintain, and it therefore made the business of artificially deriving reinforcement from the world impossible.

A prophet’s uncompromising truthfulness was both utterly confronting and utterly ego-deflating. It follows that the closer in both time and space resigned humans were to an unresigned prophet the more difficult it was for those humans to acknowledge the prophet’s essential difference.

Christ suffered from this problem. To quote from the Bible‘Now Jesus himself had pointed out that a prophet has no honour in his own country’ (John 4:44). Christ also said ‘no prophet is accepted in his home town’ (Luke 4:16-30), and ‘Only in his home town and in his own house is a prophet without honour’ (Matt. 13:54-57), and ‘Jesus left there and went to his home town…When the Sabbath came, he began to teach in the synagogue, and many who heard him were amazed. “Where did this man get these things?” they asked…Isn’t this Mary’s son and the brother of James…Jesus said to them, “Only in his home town, among his relatives and in his own house is a prophet without honour.”…he was amazed at their lack of faith’ (Mark 6:1-6).

It makes sense that the first place a prophet would go for support for his truthful way of thinking would be his own family, but ‘a prophet Page 441 of

is not recognised in his own home’. Tragically, his family is in fact the very last place he can expect to find support. Having grown up with the prophet, his family are the closest people to him in both time and space and so suffer most from the problems of being confronted by his truthfulness and having the artificiality of their world of reinforcement made transparent.

A prophet’s mother is the closest of all people to him, but the reason for her inability to recognise the importance of his work is different to the other members of the family, who are resigned individuals. As has been explained, an unresigned prophet’s mother is also necessarily unresigned. Being unresigned and thus having not taken up an egocentric attitude to life, the prophet’s mother was not confronted by his honesty, or faced with having an artificial world of reinforcement made transparent. Being unresigned herself, the problem the mother of a prophet has is that she cannot see anything unusual about her unresigned son’s way of thinking and behaving. To her he is just an extremely enthusiastic, energetic, soulful person, and as he grows up and begins to fight the world of denial, she, being a woman and relatively unaware of the nature of the battle, can be persuaded by her other children that what he is doing has no meaning, is unnecessarily uncompromising, destructive and even mad.

The potential trap for the prophet, of hopelessly trying to have his family appreciate and benefit from his work, has a dangerous capacity to exhaust and destroy him. A sound, unresigned person will naturally try extremely hard to have his family appreciate him and his work, however he simply has to be strong enough to at some stage realise the futility of trying to ‘reach’ his own family and be prepared to get on with his work without their support. In taking this step he can draw some comfort from the knowledge that all people constitute family and that his love for humanity simply has to take precedence over that for his own family. An unresigned prophet intuitively knows how precious his honest way of thinking is in a world that finds itself totally unable to think truthfully. He knows therefore that he must not fail to contribute his enlightening honesty to that world of terrible darkness and suffering, and so no matter how much he loves his familyand being free of corruption his love for them is without blemish and thus totalhe must not cave in to their coercion to abandon his work. In terms of the value of the contribution the unresigned prophet Christ was able to make, the Australian educator, Page 442 of
Print Edition
Sir James Darling, wrote that Christ’s life ‘was incalculably the most important event in human history, as we understand it, up to the present’ (The Education of a Civilized Man1962, p.206 of 223).

When Christ began his ministry and his family heard about it, they accused him of having gone mad, and acting on that belief, tried to take charge of him as if he did not know what he was doing. To quote the Bible‘When his family heard about this, they went to take charge of him, for they said, “He is out of his mind”’ (Mark 3:21)‘For even his own brothers did not believe in him’ (John 7:5)‘but his own did not receive him’ (John 1:11); and ‘Then Jesus’ mother and brothers arrived. Standing outside, they sent someone in to call him. A crowd was sitting around him, and they told him, “Your mother and brothers are outside looking for you.” “Who are my mother and my brothers?” he asked. Then he looked at those seated in a circle around him and said “Here are my mother and my brothers! Whoever does God’s will is my brother and sister and mother”’ (Mark 3:31-35).

The persecution that unresigned prophets have had to endure for revealing the truth and the inevitable estrangement from their family is also described in the Bible in Psalm 69 of David: ‘Those who hate me without reason outnumber the hairs of my head; many are my enemies without cause, those who seek to destroy me…O God of Israel. For I endure scorn for your sake, and shame covers my face. I am a stranger to my brothers, an alien to my own mother’s sons; for zeal for your house consumes me [I stand resolutely against the world of denial], and the insults of those who insult you fall on me’ (4,6,7,8,9).

Moses taught his people to stand by the truth against all odds, and, when they did, he said to them, ‘You have been set apart to the Lord today, for you were against your own sons and brothers, and he has blessed you this day [because you did not give in to the world of denial]’ (Exod. 32:29).

The divisiveness of their work greatly impacted upon the personal lives of prophets. To stand against the world of denial was an extremely lonely occupation and it left many isolated from society and without honour in their own family. Christ, possibly more than any other prophet, knew this, stating, ‘Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to turn “a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-lawa man’s enemies will be the members of his own household.” Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me’ (Matt. 10:34-37), and, ‘You will be betrayed by parents, brothers, relatives and friends, and they will put some of Page 443 of

you to death’ (Luke 21:16). It should be emphasised that Christ was introducing a religion to the world, he was establishing a place of soundness that people could defer to and live through when they became overly corrupted. When sound explanation arrives in the world, as it now has, while it will also be confronting of the world of denial, and thus divisive it shouldn’t be as divisive as the situation faced by Christ because explanation can be understood. Religions were about supporting the embodiment of the ideals in the form of the prophet they were founded around. What happens with the arrival of understanding of the human condition is people live in support of those understandings. There is no faith involved: ‘This is the end of faith and belief and the beginning of knowing’ (Beyond, p.166 of 203). With tolerance and patience, and a preparedness to accept logic, the explanations being presented can be evaluated as true or not. Faith can’t be argued but logic can. If people are prepared to consider and accept reasoned argument there doesn’t have to be conflict and division. The whole purpose of the human journey was to find understanding specifically because it ends the need for misunderstanding, both in ourselves and in others.

It should be explained here why some expressions of Christianity place so much emphasis on the Virgin Mother. The more corrupted humans became, the more important was nurturing, because nurturing is what was needed to bring about a less corrupted generation. Thus, the more a society became corrupted the more emphasis it placed on the Virgin Mother, the symbol of nurturing. Also, for an overly corrupted human it was much easier to defer to the Virgin Mary and the world of gentle nurturing, than to relate to the strong, confronting truthfulness of Christ.

Christ’s acknowledgment that his mother and family sided against him and his ministry, and even questioned his sanity, puts those expressions of Christianity that emphasise the Virgin Mother in an extremely difficult and compromised position. The reader can imagine how difficult a truth this would be to accept for those that worship the Virgin Mary, and it follows that the Biblical passage that mentions Christ’s family questioning his sanity, varies with different versions. The passage is Mark 3:21 and only the New International Version (NIV) gives what I believe is the real account. I am confident that the other versions have translated this passage in a way that does not imply that Christ’s mother failed in her support of him. The underlinings have been added for emphasis.

Page 444 of

The New International Version says ‘When his family heard about this, they went to take charge of him for they said “He is out of his mind.”’

The King James Version says ‘And when his friends heard of it, they went out to lay hold on him: for they said, He is beside himself.’

The New King James Version says ‘But when his own people heard about this, they went out to lay hold of him, for they said, “He is out of his mind.”’

The New American Standard Bible says ‘And when His own people heard of this, they went out to take custody of Him; for they were saying, “He has lost His senses.”’

The New Revised Standard Version says ‘When his family heard it, they went out to restrain him, for people were saying, “He has gone out of his mind.”’

The Good News Bible says ‘When his family heard about it, they set out to take charge of him, because people were saying, “He’s gone mad!”’

I trust the New International Version because of the effort made in it to be accurate and because of the relative soundness or innocence of those involved in the translation. The preface to the NIV translation says that the project began in 1965 (a very idealistic and sound period) with more than 100 scholars working ‘directly from the best available Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek texts’. These scholars came from the United States, Great Britain, Canada, Australia and New Zealand (all relatively young, uncorrupted, innocent, sound cultures) and from Anglican, Presbyterian, Methodist and other denominations, none of which are regarded as particularly fundamentalist. I think it is significant that the Catholic Church, which is so orientated to worshipping the Virgin Mother, was not included in this process.

I might mention here, that within the various NIV editions of the Bible, I prefer the first edition over later ones. The 1960s, when work on the first edition commenced, was such an idealistic, innocent time. Subsequent decades were less idealistic and I think the revisions of the NIV Bible they made in those subsequent periods reflects this. In the first 1978 NIV edition, Matthew 24-27 reads, ‘For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.’ In the second, 1983 NIV edition, this text has been changed to, ‘For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.’ Christ was clearly using the most powerful metaphor available to express how exposing Page 445 of
Print Edition
and thus confronting the truth about human nature would be when it arrivesthat it will be like the onset of a great clashing and flashing thunderstorm. The revised version has corrupted this all-important point and changed it to using the brightness of lightning to illustrate the visibility of the second coming. It is the confrontational nature of the truth, not its visibility, that warrants the use of the metaphor of a thunderstorm.

For reasons explained, any unresigned, denial-free thinking prophet will necessarily experience great difficulty in having his family appreciate his workas Christ said ‘no prophet is accepted in his home town’. The reason I have sought to clearly understand why unresigned prophets are not recognised in their own home is because I encountered this problem. As will be explained shortly, to be able to wander around in the realm of the human condition as easily as I have I must necessarily be an unresigned, denial-free thinker or prophet, albeit a contemporary one. In my family I am the second of four sons. My older brother saw my extreme idealism as ‘dangerous’, and the third brother described me as ‘mad’. This attitude led to a serious rift in 1991. My mother, to whom I attribute all my strength to be able to defy the world of denial, and whom I love more than anybody in the world, sided with these two brothers, even repeating to me that one of them thought I was mad. Incidentally, my father had died in a farming accident on our sheep property when I was 26 years of age, which was many years before this rift occurred. I had done all I possibly could over the years, short of self-destroying, to try and have my family understand the importance of my work, and once the rift occurred I had to decide whether or not to condone their effective dismissiveness of my work. Obviously I could not condone it and had to persevere with my work without them. Thankfully, my youngest brother, Simon, stood by me throughout this terrible experience and has continued to support me in this undertaking to bring understanding to the human condition. My other two brothers are relatively close to me in age while Simon is eight years younger than me, and it is the gap in both time and space that this age difference produced that has undoubtedly contributed to Simon being able to appreciate the real nature of my work.

Catholic Christian Mystic Hermit: A Man Chosen as Christ Would Choose: Gregory

This man is for today, celebrated on January 4, as well, and from within the first five centuries.  I note how simple and cost-free was his being consecrated a bishop "for his virtues."  Must be after the first five centuries that matters became contrived, monetary, false, and not really blessed as what Christ taught and desired by His own life and ways of doing and being, a simple call to the apostles to go to all thew world and spread the good news, and a simple breaking of bread and drinking of wine prayerfully, in remembrance of Him.

Christ taught love of God and love of others and gave many examples of this in his teachings and parable, in his examples.  He and His teaching and example to us is His Church, not all this other.  And those who adhere to His teaching and example are in Him.  Not the temporal church and what it has become.

How refreshing to think of a widower with great virtues being asked to be a bishop by the people who knew him best, and due to his life example.  Not a priest first, not climbing his way up the church corporation ladder, no politicized or despotic aspects, no weak or sick or perverted young or old man.  Simply made a bishop due to his life of virtues, proven by years and chosen, asked, by those people around him where he lived who had known him.

SAINT GREGORY
Bishop
(† c. 541)

St. Gregory was one of the principal senators of Autun and a widower after the death of his wife. At the age of fifty-seven, he was consecrated bishop of Langres for his virtues. He governed the See with admirable prudence and zeal for thirty-three years, sanctifying his pastoral labors with humility, prayer and mortification of the senses.

An incredible number of idolaters and pagans were converted by him; and worldly or materialistic Christians rejected Satan by correcting their personal disorders.

St. Gregory passed away after the feast of the Epiphany in 541. Out of devotion to St. Benignus, he was buried near that Saint's tomb at Dijon.

Christian Mystic Hermit Catholic: Difficulty Writing; Hand Surgery Soon

My right hand is in need of surgery which will happen in a week unless moved up sooner.  The knee needs replacing but hoping to get it drained again and another injection of steroid as it seems best to address the more urgent of the two body parts. And then either before or after a knee replacement, the neck needs major surgery and thus nothing to jump into until pain down the arms and into hands and in neck is unbearable. For now, the hand is at the point of losing strength and function, thus the neurosurgeon said it is in the urgent category.

I might do some videos since writing is painful and difficult, exacerbating the hand pain.

This is the life of a victim soul of the Sacred Heart of Jesus--a suffering servant, and I'm reminding myself that pain of all types is to be met with perseverance in reliance upon His Real Presence, and at this point also accepting the various surgeries due to injuries of the past--drunk driver and employee who was not keeping a water hose unlooped and flat on a floor, out of the way where customers such as me could trip and fly and hit the concrete, thus causing permanent knee damage.

Always in the world is the element of injustice, such as the drunk teen who was not arrested, who hit me 37 years ago causing permanent back and neck problems, or the store employee who did not keep a watering hose flat nor away from me who did not see it and foot caught, body flew and hit concrete causing permanent knee damage.  And the legal system does not necessarily provide justice nor remuneration; it becomes quite ugly.  As James writes in his Epistle, keep oneself unstained by the world.

I remind myself in all these years of constant pain, that it could be so much worse.  That is true, and in circumstances including emotional and spiritual pain, yes, I've been through far worse in some instances than the surgeries I face--the neck surgery the most serious and painful of all.

All else is well--the mind, heart, and soul--as well as an imperfect human can be, but is well due to His Real Presence in His glory and love is within and I am within His Real Presence.  Praise and love to the Holy Trinity!

Love in His Love, and God bless His Real Presence in us!

Christian Catholic Mystic Hermit: More Correspondence Regarding His Real Presence, the Trinity

I'm not getting through to the person who corresponds and  has tremendous devotion to writing biographies of what a lengthy process that has evolved and expanded since the third century--that of, for want of better explanation:  saint-making.  It has become known in recent centuries a "canonization process."

My interest, of course, is His Real Presence in me and me in His Real Presence and living the Law of God--the Law of Love.

This is how I responded, for I tried to encourage the person to consider coming alive in His Living Word and us writing of His Real Presence Who sustains us in His Living Word, but the friend's heart obviously remains in that of these people, good Christians in life they are, but most in the last few centuries having been elevated through a process they on earth would shun--but are now labeled after a massive ceremony after years of a group of people earning salaries and putting in full-time work for those years, so these people can be "canonized" and called saint-this and saint -that.

And where does that leave many people?  Their hearts and minds more into these saints than in His Real Presence, even though they might say that theses "saints" show them how to live a Christian life. But why cannot, since we are in His Real Presence and His Real Presence is in us, we live as followers of Christ Who Is His Real Presence, Who in full is the Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit?

Here's what I wrote in response to biographical sketch written to me of Peter Julian Eymard, a wonderful Christian man, I'm sure in life and now deceased to the temporal but enjoying eternal life!

Dear X,

Your trips to Kroger are productive, I'm sure, and maybe partly the need for pumpkin bread ingredients or even the healthy additions baked in by your talented hands!  "May the Lord grant success to the work of your hands!" (I have always loved that Psalm-forget which one by number but content matters, I suppose.)

I have been pondering how we as humans are so attached to the temporal and have trouble detaching but seems the work of life to learn to detach as we are dying every moment physically, and our souls and hearts and minds though, can be growing and all in preparation for eternity or "Heaven."  And I am noticing that in recognizing His Real Presence in me at all times and places no matter my thoughts, emotions, and bodily condition, and I am in His Real Presence (Trinity which includes Jesus, of course, which then includes His Body and Blood or what is termed in the Catholic church, in substance, the Eucharist but in tangible also known as the consecrated Host)--that the signs and wonders no longer matter as far as His Real Presence always being in me and me in HRP.

However, they provide some encouragement, for sure, and are helpful--such as the Holy Spirit having sprinkler Station Three of all those heads spraying and turning off properly, automatically, and the constant gurgling stopped. I had asked the Holy Spirit and also Jesus, my Spouse, to please help as I was overburdened and overwhelmed with the added maintenance problem.  God provided, and I praised them for it and am sharing that most helpful miracle with you now.  Praise HRP!  (His Real Presence!)

So Peter Julian Eymard actually had devotion to the Eucharist as a stepping stone to at some point if not on earth but in heaven then, not having devotion to the "Eucharist" per say but to His Real Presence who we realize either here or at death or after progressing farther after we die but before we are in fullness of life, truth, beauty, goodness and the Light of the HRP, the Trinity.  I had always had a tremendous devotion to the Eucharist until now for 13 years ago with the onset of the mystical ecstasy, I was in the gradual progression and understanding my intense devotion is actually to and in and with and through His Real Presence who is in me constantly and I am in His Real Presence constantly.  No longer is the devotion to a consecrated tangible--however, and this is important, from birth on we start to attach and be dependent after the great detachment of sorts when we are born--detach from His Real Presence in mystical and spiritual, and we are born into bodies and minds and emotions with souls but we are taught this and that attachment to function in this life, and to learn the ways of the temporal existence while still having minds, emotions and very importantly souls.

So in part of religious training and to get the idea so that we can grasp His Real Presence in us and Us in Him, Jesus used bread and wine to help us learn faith and that the bread is His Body and the wine is His blood, and we are to break bread and drink one one with another in prayerful and holy intent of love of God and in remembrance of HIM.  A transubstantiation occurs.  Jesus knew and knows how it is us humans immersed in temporal life and our spiritual reality clouded if not shrouded.  Even the Disciples had a terrible time understanding some parables and asked him to explain, or did not grasp the power of God's law of love and of great faith in God and the ability then to drive out demons and to perform miracles. But they started to learn and especially with the help and grasp of the Holy Spirit Who Jesus gave to humankind at Pentecost as yet another way and means and to visualize, with the dove as a symbol, or fire like thousands of tongues, and the miracles that occurred in that event alone.  Faith and understanding kind of grow together.

It is a matter of progression, and of opening ourselves to the acceptance of His Real Presence without the need remaining of the tangible and temporal at some point, and of course it will definitely be for everyone when they die, but it is all right and helpful to grasp when younger than I am, that is for sure.  I have been not letting go of that tangible but was forced by God to let go and in the ecstasy be shown how His Real Presence is sustaining me in the elements that we otherwise know as His Living Word, and Eucharist without a tangible Host at all, but fed spiritually more effective and efficient in that way as we are in HIs Real Presence all the time and HIs REal Presence is in us), plus in conversation with God--Prayer. We are sustained by this Trinity that comprises the Mass, so in that way the Mass is always in us and we are in the Mass.

I considered how Jesus went to a distant spot to be alone and away from people to ponder and mourn the death of John the Baptist, but His Real Presence always exemplifies, and actually makes REAL, the Law of Love, so when all those people figure out his location and many were there waiting for him--imagine the human might have the "uh-oh" moment of "here we go again--no time for myself to even grieve," and yet the His Real Presence of the Father, Jesus, and Holy Spirit, the Trinity, immediately goes into loving and having compassion and concern for them so began teaching and explaining in whatever ways humans can generally grasp when beginning to learn spiritual truths--through parables, as they were hungry spiritually, and after some time of teaching, their temporal bodies were hungry, also.

So a miracle provided for the temporal, but mainly it was to help solidify what He'd taught them, so that their faith could be increased--kind of like a benchmark or a blessing, the miracle of bread and fish--feeding them what in essence was spiritual for the temporal increased miraculously, spiritually, mystically.  Jesus was teaching what God had tried to impart upon Ezekiel, when God had Ezekiel eat the scroll of Scripture, Living Word of God.  That, too, was a tangible form of "Eucharist" in a way, but the spiritual reality is that of consuming HIs Real Presence is superfluous once we have "consumed" the reality that HRP is in us already, always, everywhere, in all ways--and we are in HRP, as well.

That is why in he ecstasy I began experiencing in any and every Mass beginning nearly 13 years ago, I never had any hunger for the tangible host and never was lacking, and have not been since in that way--but I was hindering the progression by my not getting it not realizing that God was leading me on and to grasp the ways in which HIs Real Presence sustains us in our very SOULS, in all ways and always.  But we have to get to that point of grasping, and His Real Presence provided temporal-spiritual method in the Last Supper, and taught much of the spiritual in what has been termed the Last Supper Discourses.

The great devotion, of course, is actually a devotion to His Real Presence Who Is in us and we are in HRP, and to exhibit and the overflow extending out to all souls and creation is that of HRP's (and our--since we are in HRP and HRP in us):  LOVE.

Love in His Love, and God Bless His Real Presence in us!

Christian Catholic Mystic Hermit: Utter Humility

Utter humility and recognizing oneself as nothing and God as All brings one's soul like Mary who was at the feet of Jesus, her tears washing His feet.  These surely were tears of emotion wrought from the outer and inner view and knowledge of self that being in God's presence elicits:  of the sheer nothingness of our existences except for whatever of us is in God.

This morning, the only aspect I see of self is what I know to be only that which is as hazy reflection of His Real Presence.

I consider how much of this life I waste, in effect, with emotion and thought on what I see that is disappointing, and that includes mostly and very much of what I see of myself with inner sight, even, but also outer sight. My mind and heart and soul are weary of temporal and long for His Real Presence.

Yet it does no good to long for what I am yet not given, but must remain here on earth and learn what lessons yet to learn, and to do as Jesus did when yet on earth, of which I most often seeming to waft rather than to be in His lived examples.  I still have much to which I cling of temporal emotions and thoughts, and I do what I can to distract myself so that time passes, and I do not notice the body so much in its ongoing pain.

Today I will continue on with the efforts needed to construct a type of platform on post that can stand on floor and nearly to ceiling to hold up the other end of furring strips of wood--part of the process in putting in planks for a ceiling that will run same direction as flooring, eventually.  None of it matters other than to have what temporal toils are somewhat productive and useful especially for prayer and building the virtues.  Even the encounters, brief as they are, with such as young man who mixed the paint for ceiling planks, ought be that of my soul graced in His Real Presence touching the other's soul.  I do this often with humor and sometimes a story of temporal incident that taught or teaches me (and potentially others) some lesson that includes humility most often.

So we strive in our bodily-tethered, earthly waiting to be enveloped fully in His Real presence, sans our bodies,  to do our best in seeking Him and reminding others, I suppose, of our seeking--of our desire to be with His Real Presence at all times on earth and forever in eternity.

In the meantime, we make our errors, slip to some temptations, recognize our flaws, try to pull up and out of them like the effort it can take to rise in the morning and  continue existing within the confines of our bodies.

I must not ever forget that I do not have to keep my mind, heart, and soul confined to this suffering and limiting body.  Jesus did not let Mary who loved Him with all her being, touch or grab hold of Him when He had resurrected from the body, but still showed Himself in His earthly bodily format.  This is something we all can learn and consider.  God progresses us from dependence upon temporal, for He is Spirit and Truth, and only in faith as we are progressed by God, can we embrace His Real Presence.

That, in part, is why the Lord had my angel lead me to the stairway to heaven in the Mass, and out of body and into His Real Presence in mystical ecstasy during Masses. Even in the religious forms and representations of His Real Presence, to progress one must let go of the temporal and exist increasingly in fullness of faith and spirit.

Love in His Love, and God bless His Real Presence in us!

(Of all things, I've been having to shake off my great disappointment in seeing my neighbor act like a weasel and reveal how cheap and not man of integrity that I had wanted to see him as.  But I repeat to myself and say to His Real Presence how I must "Let go!  Let go!"  I actually started to fall to the temptation to lower to react to cheapness and conniving, and then had to pull up and out of that, knowing what were my obligations for a major repair cost that is the result of the neighbor's tree planted near my property line and roots having rubbed a hole in main water line to my house.  It is all silly other than for the lesson I learned, and how easily and quickly I can be so reactant--and over what?  Let others do as they do, but as for me (and my house), we shall serve the Lord!)

Christian, Mystic, Hermit, Catholic: God Provides All Necessary in Today

I think I've worked through even though it's taken me along time and much writing and praying, to simply and deeply accept and say YES, I agree to want and have you more directly now.  And I add on, "Please show me what next and what is helpful in this phase."

I don't want any reader to think I have "left the "church."  The Body of Christ with Christ as Head, the Church, is now not so much a place or thing, nor is it a temporal need now.  When several years ago God showed me in vision the persons and objects and aspects in a type of visual metaphor of the temporal Church,  and asked me, "Why would you want THAT when you can have ME more directly now?", it has taken these years to experience and consider and pray about God's will and what He meant and means.  And despite my continuing to try to force forward thinking I needed the temporal Church still, that I must be misinterpreting, in part, the vision and locution, God in practicum did not allow any of my attempts to continue temporal life in the temporal Church.  Even the other day I thought aloud in conversation with a long time friend and helper, "Should I try again?"  He responded, "How many times would you keep subjecting yourself to what continues to be closed doors and non-acceptance?  And maybe more importantly, why would you keep doing that?"

And true, the latter is the question that led me to understanding that God chose for me and was delighted for me to become Catholic, but He is showing me as in all of life, even into eternity, it is all a process through which we all progress at individual "time" and ways and means of process and progression.  He leads; He guides; He wills all.  God is patience but persists in helping us progress through the process, or series of processions, one flowing into the next, on and on. Probably the major flow-to-the-next is at our temporal deaths, but there are many deaths and rebirths within our temporal lives if we desire Christ increasingly, but have our hindrances tethering.  God then progresses us which requires some breaking of the tethers, even ones that might seem ought be what we ought have throughout this life, in the same way, shape, and form.

No.  And so I am reviewing the positives and reasons why God and what God provided and the ways in which I still attached possessiveness and my human desire for acceptance and to fit in, and my naive wish for something on earth to live out the ideal as well as to be a constant in this life, and that this would be a constant, a once-and-for-all place or thing or experience.  But the soul is not created to exist like that, to essentially not progress and be brought by God through processes to closer and closer relationship and understanding of and with and through and in God. The more we desire union with God, the more we must be prepared for and accept shifts and changes and learning and growth, and letting go of even what seem to be or we think ought to be sacrosanct temporal aspects, such as the ideals of the temporal Church.

Nothing can be forced--and that includes forcing ourselves to stay in one place or phase, or to move forward beyond what God ordains, such as desiring for Jesus to come back and take us with Him. That desire cannot be forced into a reality unless that reality is based on the reality that Jesus exists in timelessness and will come take us from this life according to His will and means.  It cannot be rushed or dictated by what we want in order to essentially escape the "lessons" we have yet to learn here, now, and often without knowing specifically what are these lessons nor how to learn them--or on our time frame and conditions which generally wants a rush-order job-done.

This morning I did force a praise of God, first thing.  I had a determination of my will to get up from bed and be dressed and mudding the bathroom walls, doing a second and final skim coat. I wanted to do this starting at 9 a.m. or shortly after.  I have come to accept that my praise of God is often forced, when I remember to praise God, but that a forced praise of God is better than no praise of God at all.  And as often can be the case, a habit can become natural and unforced with practice and conscious recognition and desire.  I did not, of course, do a forced praise of God without having the sincere desire to praise God. My praise of God, forced, does not mean my desire to praise God is any less than a spontaneous and rich and glorious praise of God.

Then I noticed today's Gospel reading is of Jesus' praising of God!  And I noticed a commentary on praising God by Augustine.  (I have come to a point of consciously not referring to these great people, great souls, as "saints" or "St." this or that because I know consciously that titles of sainthood and canonization process and confirmation on certain humans is a mechanism of humans, specifically those humans who were and are in a man-created hierarchy in the temporal Churches:  Catholic, Orthodox, Anglican and other offshoots of Catholicism, and other religions in the world might designate the people they consider to be holy by some other designation.  But at this phase in my progression in the process, it is important for me to let go of the man-developed mores and practices that Jesus did not create or use or find necessary or needful.  Jesus is wanting all souls to be holy and to be saved and to come to the Father, to believe in the Father and Holy Spirit and come through Him, God's Son, One in Three, Second Person of the Trinity--and have fullness of life in the Spirit, and be children of God, and so forth.

Even in praising God, forced, and in praising God after reading the Living Word and deepening the reality that I am in God and He is in me, and in then praising God with deeper love and conscious awareness of God Being All and my being nothing of my own and only relevant in God and His Love and Mercy of and toward me--I could not force my body up to remain up.  The physical lumbar, hip, leg, foot pain and radiating pain causing unctuous nausea,  put me back on the bed for another couple of hours. And yes, I do whatever at my temporal means to help the physical situation:  oral pain med to augment the pain pump release, called for appt. to increase pump release of med, anti nausea meds-- a second type when the first had litle to no effect.  And the acceptance of having to get down and stay down awhile.

Change my temporal goals, and let go and let God for this morning and however long physically, just as I had o let go and let God when I accepted God more directly, and had to let go of what I loved tremendously, even too much--the temporal Catholic church of parish and diocese, of all that entails, of this and that temporal and human-developed, human-created and evolved over the years.

This does not mean I let go of my faith, or of His Real Presence in spiritual communion (spiritual Eucharist), or His Living Word, or prayer.  It does not mean that I do not appreciate and find friendship in and much good help from holy persons living and deceased such as Augustine and many others, including little known holy people like the auto mechanic's secretary who is pivotal in a holy and helpful business that helps so many with love, honesty, integrity and excellence in quality of work done.

And I recommend to any and all, if seeking God: the Catholic Church.  In this Church will be the spiritual, mystical Church, Christ's Church.  I just don't recommend loving the externals or such, but love God more and discover His Real Presence in the Mass as in Eucharist, Living Word, and prayer.  Then discover His Real Presence all the time in the "mass as our lives", in spiritual eucharit, Living Word , and prayer.  Discover the mystics and the prophets and writers, the great spiritual directors, the theologians who strive to explain, and the Scriptural scholars, likewise.  But know that the Church is created and intended by God as a means of process and progression, to find and have His Real Presence in Eucharist, Word, and prayer, and to recognize His Real Presence Who Is in us and in others, as we are in His Real Presence always and everywhere He Is.  Learn to love to learn to love, and suffer to love and love to suffer. Love God above all things, and love others and self as God loves us.

The Catholic church is a means of many processes of progression to God, but the Church is not God Himself.  The Mass is beyond description.  The Mass is the stairway to heaven, and I suppose each soul must figure that out with God's individualized instruction and progressing in the processes.

I became very attached to the "Church" and so wanted to be accepted and fit in and have it remain steady, not a progression itself, so static as such, but God provided all necessary to proceed and understand that His acceptance and fitting into Him, becoming one with God, is what He ultimately and primarily and primordially desires and wills in His great love and desire for us to remain in His Love, in His ineffable Beingness.

And thus, I share here a cut-and-paste of today's Gospel reading of His Real Presence in Living Word, plus excerpt of Augustine's writing on praising God.  And God Bless His Real Presence in us all!

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 11,25-27.

At that time Jesus exclaimed, "I give praise to you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for although you have hidden these things from the wise and the learned you have revealed them to the childlike.
Yes, Father, such has been your gracious will.
All things have been handed over to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son wishes to reveal him."

Saint Augustine (354-430)

Bishop of Hippo (North Africa) and Doctor of the Church

Sermon 34 ; CCL 41, 423-426.

"I praise you, Father"

We are invited to sing a new song to the Lord (Ps 149:1). The new man is the man who knows this new song. Singing is joy and, if we consider the matter more closely, love. Someone who understands about loving this new life knows the new song, and so we need to be informed as to what the new life is for the sake of the new song. All these things belong to the same Kingdom: new man, new song, new covenant. The new man will sing a new song and be a member of the new covenant. (…) “See!” you will say, “I am singing.” You are singing; yes, you are singing, I can hear you. But be careful that your life doesn't bear witness against your tongue. Sing with your voice, sing with your heart, sing with your mouth, sing in your conduct: “Sing to the Lord a new song.” You are wondering what you are to sing for him whom you love and you cast about for the praises to sing to him. “His praise is in the assembly of the saints” (Ps 149:1). The praise to be sung is that of the singer. Do you want to sing praise to God? Be yourself what you sing. You are his praise if you live uprightly.
