Catholic Hermit: Consolation from Fr. V!

I've been wondering how is Fr. V, increasingly so, as he has written to me of times of great danger in his country, and of the kidnappers and murdering herdsmen coming into the area where he is leading his religious community's large boarding school, I think now, after having been novice master to his community's equally burgeoning seminary.  Regardless, when I do not hear from him in quite awhile, I do become concerned as to his safety.  However, then I consider he is "safe" in His Real Presence regardless, as are we all.

But what a major consolation late afternoon this Solemnity of Corpus Christi, when I had a response to my email sent earlier today across the invisible internet, from here to a distant land.

I love what he wrote, and I consider it a message to every one of us, to anyone who reads this, anytime, anywhere.  The Holy Spirit has a heart and soul such as Fr. V's meant to share his words with everyone. This internet stuff can be such a blessing; the good and holy can remain for as long as the internet remains, which now might well be until the earth is no more.

"I am really glad to hear from you. Although not surprised that you will write to me on a day like this. I know I cannot allow today to pass without saying hello to you. I was in my room after dinner and then have to come to the office to write this mail because it is absolutely necessary that I should write to you today to wish best wishes from His Real Presence.

As you rightly pointed out, it has been a while since our last communication. But like you, one thing that has not being affected by either distance or time is my prayer for you. You have always been in my mind and please God our minds still work together. Sorry for all the pains you have to under go. I know it has not being easy for you, but the Lord is your strength. His grace is sufficient for you.

I am glad that you are a person of hope and Hope cannot disappoint you.

We continue to pray for the situation [here] It has not being anyway better. The election has come and gone, but nothing seems to be working. It is still the set of criminals, who have only come to steal. But the are the most unfortunate of all people because they are the great losers: What shall it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his own soul.

I keep you in my prayers. As you said, and I am highly edified by that, Let His Will be Done. May His Real Presence keep you and protect you. Let His Archangel Raphael take control of every activities of the doctors and nurses. My plan for you is for good and not for bad, says the Lord.

Remain always in His Divine Presence.
