hermit Catholic nothing sends wireless from patmos

Aloha! nothing greets any readers out there from its stop-over at the island. Having gone beyond the "nets", out into the deep, nothing has found itself on a kind of island. Why not send a greeting?

My-oh-my! The swim has been fascinating. Deep waters can include some strange water creatures, kind of like phenomenon. And it can happen when one least expects, where one would least desire it to happen, and that brings up all kinds of questions and anxieties.

But the confessor is cool and calm about it, the Bishop is not at all upset by it, and the da admits it is strange but goes along with whatever the confessor thinks in the way of dealing with it.

nothing is the problem, however. nothing has wanted it to go away--but only because it is embarrassing, and also nothing wants to conform. And, another thing--one time it did go away totally, and amazingly, and nothing immediately thought it could return to some temporal Catholic world activities and be more temporal Catholic world acceptable. But it came back, and now nothing knows it is fried from any and all temporal Catholic world endeavors, at least at the local level, and probably any level.

nothing has tried various ways to rid itself of this phenomena, and be assured that it has been accused of this or that--and has done so also to itself, raked itself over the coals. But no, it just happens. So this morning after yet another attempt to try to out-psych the phenomena, and it didn't work, nothing got the bright idea to call the ret. abbot of a Cistercian abbey, and spoke with him. There was a question that had arisen in nothing's mind, and the da couldn't answer it, and it hadn't asked the confessor yet, but the ret. abbot gave a suggestion to basically let the thing happen, and the details nothing leaves out, but to return to the front and just see where God takes it.

nothing MUST move on from the concern of it, as it had until a couple weeks ago when it thought the thing was gone. But in many ways, the thing is a good thing, except for the fact that it is making nothing face that it is fried from the TCW and must embrace
in actuality the MCW. And this brings up one of nothing's big hang-ups, and that is of wanting to be regular, blend in, and fit in: acceptable. This thing has done in nothing's inner desires despite the outer apparel. Yes, the eldest adult child had said re. the clothes, that they wouldn't fool people for long. But they did do a good job for a long time, and now they are probably still for the best.

Ah, the reading has been good! Another batch has arrived via USPS. Awhile back was told to turn to the doctors of the church (when temporal world doctor could not figure out the thing other than to say it was not psychotically derived), and specifically to St. Bernard. So nothing was grateful to have books already on the shelf in the library room, and read those to much good. Then got Luddy's Life and Teachings of St. Bernard, and is munching through that huge but helpful tome. Read a book on angels, some victim soul books (St. Alphonsa, Marie of L'Agnus Dei, Bl. Mariam the Little Arab), a book on surprising mystics by Thurston as well as his book on mystical phenomenon,
another Carthusian book, am into Aquinas' Commentary on the Epistle to the Hebrews, inching through St. Pio's Vol. III of "Letters", and read a few others now back on the shelves.

On the island, life is good now that nothing must just chill out, keep a grip, and toast. Chilling and toasting are good counters to being lukewarm.

So much has transpired! The prayer life has changed, aiming for the third and fourth degrees of love, a la St. Bernard. His book on Humility is divine, as is his book on love of God--but the introductions (longer the better) are so helpful! Oh yes--am reading Leclerq's Love of Learning and Desire for God. Just beginning. Another book on angels
arrived today, and so be it.

Pain is huge these days. Offering if for love of God in Himself. All existence in prayer is for all souls living (and that means embryos) and all souls in purgatory, that all of us souls in these states of existence love God supremely and perfectly for Himself, and that we all realize God's supreme and perfect love for us.

It's as well the swimming into the deep has not allowed for blogging. So much was best to not share, and the devil has been at nothing, and that would have no doubt scandalized those who do not comprehend and those who are eager to criticize nothing. Such is God's pleasure.

There is much to be written about mystics and mental patients--how they share the same indignities, but also the same freedoms. Yes, there are certain freedoms that the mentally ill have, and a certain acceptance that mystics do not have; but mystics can be considered this or that, and thus may as well enjoy the flack, and to be soon left alone, avoided, and sort of feared. Helps the assurance of solitude...and is freeing once the mystic accepts its lot in life. Yes, to play the hand that is dealt it.

And, as far as hermits go, there are temporal Catholic world hermits, and there are mystical Catholic world hermits, and this is why once more, the TCW ones don't quite understand the MCW ones. It goes along with the analogy of the dockers and the floaters....

Now, nothing will float on. The island is but a respite spot, and amazing it has wireless availability! Ta!
