Possess the Lord's Glory

What is the Lord's glory?

That is the question, dear Jesus, that the da was working on last night when I called him. He was preparing his homily based on II Thessalonians, that part of St. Paul's writing when he was telling the people to possess the glory of our Lord--You!

The da was thinking about the Olympic gold medalists and how they felt glorious, that maybe they possessed glory just then, with their success. But I said that this would be for the most part, temporal glory. And so from that perspective, Jesus' crucifixion and body risen from the dead, His miracles, and His birth would be the Lord's glory, His successes of His mission on earth.

But the Lord's glory in the mystical world would be His ascension and existence as God--the blessedness and splendor of Heaven.

But this morning at Mass, Beloved Lord, I was thinking about it, and it seemed You were telling me, through that Part of You that is Holy Spirit, that for the temporal Catholic world, where it meets with the mystical Catholic world, the glory of the Lord, then, for mortals, is the Eucharist. That is something temporal, Your real Body and Blood, that temporal Catholics can possess of Your glory.

And again, what is Your glory, Lord? It then seems You were telling me it is love, and that with a capital "L". God is Love. So the Eucharist is Love, but it is Love in a temporal form that temporal Catholics can seem to possess, although it seems that mystically You are possessing them at that point. However, as temporal Catholics, often the mystical is not grasped, so we are allowed to think we are the ones possessing Your glory, that is, Your Love.

And then, what is Your Love, if Love is Your glory?

Well, it seems that You were telling me that in the mystical realm, Love is ineffable for those in the temporal realm to truly comprehend. There is no adequate description or definition for Love, and yet temporal beings do try to describe. They usually describe in the effects of Love, or even get caught up in the feelings of love, and that with a small "l". So Love is that which is Your Glory, and You possess us in Your glory.

But this morning, You know Jesus, that I prayed when I received Your glory in the Eucharist, that Your glory would possess me. I asked for Your ineffable Love to possess me beyond the tangible glory You give us, through the priests' consecration of the species of bread and wine, become Your Body and Blood. On earth, these are Your glory, given from Your success in Your salvific mission, and we possess them all the while You are the one possessing us. And Love (ineffable) is Your Glory, and Your Glory possesses us when we ask and desire.

We are to possess the Lord's glory, tangibly and are possessed by (and in) the Lord's glory when we ask to be possessed in His ineffable Love. The Lord's glory is His Love, is Him, for God is Love.

[For You, Jesus my Love, is this photo of Your creation, (the photography, and the climbing rose--called in the temporal realm, "Blaze of Glory"). I offer it this day of the first "blog" that is written just for You, from nothing!]
